Success of the musical Shackleton
24 May, 2019
The audience of what is now the 4th musical of Bell-lloc was captivated by the staging and many emotions. The success of Shackleton is the result of the work of the entire school throughout the school year. We present you some photos of the days before the opening day taken by the student Oriol Cortina Reixach.

The images show the preparation and assembly of the stage and lights, performance tests with actors, choreographies with students, some waiting times and relaxation, general essays, hairdressing and make-up and backstage section, prior to the afternoon functions of Friday.
In the coming days we will share the photo album of the show.
Shackleton explains the story of explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his ambitious expedition, which in 1914 sought to cross the entire continent of Antarctica on foot. The trip became an odyssey when the ship with which they were sailing, Endurance, was trapped between ice platforms in the Weddell Sea, a few kilometers from the coast. After months and dragged to the north by the underwater currents, the ship could not resist the pressure of the ice and sank, leaving all the abandoned crew in the middle of the frozen sea. For 24 months, the crew had to withstand the few groceries that they had and very low temperatures, with no hope of being rescued by anybody. Shackleton’s determination, bravery and leadership were key to overcoming all problems and for all to survive at the end of the adventure.
Resilience (ability to adapt to adversity), attitude towards failure, overcoming, coexistence, the spirit of survival, teamwork, the value of effort and solidarity are some of the values that appear in this story.
Throughout the entire school year, these aspects have been worked out by the students within the framework of the B! Character program and activities related to the history of Shackleton have also been carried out:
- Reading of the book “Shackleton, expedition to Antarctica”, by Lluís Prats
- Reading of the book “The trip of Shackleton” by William Grill
- English text quotes excerpts from Sir Shackleton’s diary, “South”
- Screening of the documentaries “Trapped in the Ice” and “The Captain of Shackleton”
- Live videoconferencing with the Spanish Antarctic Base “Gabriel de Castilla”, located on the Island Deception
- Educational activities on the Antarctic
The Bell-lloc musical would not be possible without the human team that we formed all the members of the school. As a global and integrating project, it is the Musical of all. And the excellent reception by relatives and friends attending as a public encourages us to continue working to develop the artistic skills and cooperation of our students and offer you one year more a professional level show.
From the musical organization we want to thank the work, effort, dedication and collaboration of all the participating students and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
Thank you so much!
